Editing a post is much the same as Adding a post, except your content is already there and all you need to do is make your changes.

To edit a post:

  • Log in to your WordPress Administration Panel
  • From the panel on the left, expand the Posts menu from the drop down arrow and select  Edit
  • Change the  post a title if you like – WordPress has already created a link to this post, so if you have linked to it from another section in your site, the link will not change.
  • Change the content as required in the editing window below the menu bar
  • Update the category for this post if you want to – if you do not select a category, your post will be allocated to the default category, usually “news”
  • When you are finished with your changes, you can preview your post by clicking on the Preview button at the top right of your screen in the “publish” section
  • Keep editing until you have completed your post
  • When your post looks the way that you want it to in the preview window, click on the Update Post blue button in the “publish” section to make the post appear on your site

You can click the Visit site link in the dark grey bar at the top left of your editing window to see your site’s updated post.
